Two Side Of The Moon

by David Scott and Alexei Leonov

David Scott was one of twelve men to have walked on the moon. He flew three space missions: first as pilot of Gemini 8 in 1966, then as command module pilot on Apollo 9 in 1969, and finally as commander of Apollo 15 in 1971.

Alexei Leonov was among the first group of cosmonauts selected in 1960 and flew two space missions: first as a pilot of Voskhod 2 in 1965 becoming the first man to walk in space and then in 1975 as commander of Soyuz 19 during the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. In 1966 he was appointed commander of the lunar training group and would have been the first Soviet cosmonaut on the moon. Leonov is also an accomplished painter, having exhibited throughout the world.

Space was one of the most fiercely fought battlegrounds of the cold war, the moon its ultimate beachhead.

Crossroads

By robert johnson

I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
Asked the lord above for mercy, save me if you please.

I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
Nobody seemed to know me, everybody passed me by.

Im going down to rosedale, take my rider by my side.
Im going down to rosedale, take my rider by my side.
You can still barrelhouse, baby, on the riverside.

You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy willie brown.
You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy willie brown.
And Im standing at the crossroads, believe Im sinking down.

I'm really into EC right now. Watched the Cream Royal Albert Hall DVD and went out and bought the CD to that concert. EC is one awesome guitar player!

Charles Schultz Philosophy

From Weekend Encounter..."Copyright (c) Acts International, 2006.Subscribe from: http://www.actsweb.org/subscribe.php"

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don'thave to actually answer the questions. Just read
the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second--rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners. Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

Pass this on to those people who have made a difference in your life. "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." -- Charles Schultz

Father's Day 2006

Adversity...

God never sends adversity into your life to break your spirit or destroy you. If you respond improperly, you can destroy yourself, but God's purpose is always to bless, to strengthen, to encourage, and to bring you to the maximum of your potential.

Adversity touches every life. Instead of running from it, ask the Lord, "What are You trying to teach me?" While it's okay to tell Him you don't like it and you wish He'd take it away, I challenge you to add, "But don't quit, God, until You have finished."

Dear heavenly Father, on this day I thank you for all Your blessings. Lord thank you for Neil & Lydia, my home, family, friends, work and for this precious world you created. Lord, I ask forgiveness of my sins and I pray that through You I will be the loving father to my children as You are to Your children. In your precious name, Amen.

Sad and Deep As You

Sad and Deep As You
by Dave Mason

Lips that are as warm could be
Lips that speak too soon
Lips that tell a story
Sad and deep as you

Smile that's warm as summer sun
Smile that gets you through
Smile that tells a story
Sad and deep as you

Eyes that are the windows
Eyes that are the view
Eyes that tell a story
Sad and deep as you

Tears that are unspoked words
Tears that are the truth
Tears that tell a story
Sad and deep as you

Is it better to have loved and lost that love, or never to have loved at all?
